For years Alaska has been called “The Last Frontier”. With its 586,412 square miles, Alaska has over 3,000 rivers. Many of these have never been floated! Each year we try to explore a new river or two to add to future trip offerings. In 2006, we floated the King and Holitna rivers in southwest Alaska. The exciting opportunity these trips bring is the ability to explore different areas for wildlife, fish, scenery, and areas of interest such as gold panning, paleontology, and wild life conservation. Imagine yourself panning for gold in river waters last panned by miners from the gold rush. Or floating a river on whose banks was recently discovered one of the largest caches of dinosaur bones in the United States. Or as you float silently by, watch the migration of 100,000 plus caribou from their summer feeding grounds. These are just a few examples of how customizing your trip can offer you the Alaskan experience of a lifetime. |
